How to Feel Confident and Safe in Your Accessible Home

by | Oct 30, 2019 | Featured

Is your home supporting your needs? You feel comfortable in your home but not completely confident. Maybe the stairs have become challenging or it’s hard to slip in and out of the shower with ease nowadays.

Our goal is to make your home fit your various needs. We want to make sure you feel comfortable and independent while living at home. It can be difficult when you, or someone you love, reaches the stage where mobility becomes difficult. We understand that, and we are here to help make your new lifestyle as comfortable as possible.

If you’re in need of some updates to your home to make it more accessible and comfortable, we have what you need. Home accessibility is our top priority. Take a look at the common updates we can provide to make you feel safe and independent at home.

Bathroom

We have many options for you or your loved one to make them comfortable and safe in the bathroom.

Tub and Grab bars are a great addition to the tub to help with safety and stability. This is also one of the more inconspicuous options to leave you feeling confident. Depending on the size and style of your tub/shower, we’ll install a grab bar that fits perfectly.

Benches and shower seats are an easy addition if you need a bit more support in the shower. These can be easily added or removed from your shower.

Other options like raised toilet seats, bath lifts, and commodes are also available to help you feel confident in your home.

Bedroom

Your bedroom should be the most comfortable room in your home. With added safety and comfort features, your bedroom will be your favourite room.

We provide a wide selection of bed accessories. Bed rails are a great addition to aid in mobility when getting in and out of your bed. These trusty rails are sleek in design and some come with pockets and organizers for the things you want to keep close to you.

Overbed tables are one of our favourites. Whether it’s for breakfast in bed, a glass of water or a place to put your book, these tables are an awesome addition to your bedroom to keep everything within reach.

Stairs

One of the most common issues in our client’s homes is the stairs. We want to help you cruise up and down them with ease.

Our stairlifts are custom-fitted to your home. No matter the staircase, our technicians can help provide the best solution for those stairs. We also have outdoor options so you can enjoy your backyard again!

Depending on your home and your mobility needs, we also offer wheelchair lifts and residential elevators.

Wheelchair ramps are also a great addition if you have a couple of steps here or there that you can’t seem to tackle more accessible. These ramps can be custom fitted to your home or for a quick fix, we have options that can handle the small lips and steps. Our wheelchair ramps come with and without handrails to lend you an extra hand when you need it.

At Leading Edge Mobility, we try to make your environment as simple and intuitive as possible. Your home should still feel like home, just with increased independence and confidence. These products allow you to stay in your own home, safe, and out of harm’s way without feeling overwhelmed when you have too many options.
