Funding Assistance

If you are looking for funding assistance the Leading Edge Mobility staff would love to help send you in the right places.

Listed are some organizations that often help with funding and assistance to those in need. We recommend you reach out to those that are applicable to you.

National Programs

Veterans Affairs Canada

When applying for disability assistance from VAC you must be a veteran, usually one holding a card with a K number on it. You must first speak with a representative from Veterans Funding before MEDIchair can complete the paperwork for you.

Canadian Cancer Society

Visit Their Website

If you think you may be eligible, you must first apply directly with CCS. If you are accepted, they will contact MEDIchair for you. This group does not often offer assistance or benefits to applicants.  

Alzheimer Society of Canada
The Alzheimer Society of Canada does not offer any funding assistance as far as MEDIchair is aware.
Workers Compensation Board
Applicants must first contact the WCB, where they will work with a caseworker who will further coordinate with MEDIchair. The WCB is very helpful in providing applicants with the necessary funding.
Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports
Applicants must contact the CPAA directly and coordinate with them.
ALS Association
The ALS Association is an incredible program that reaches out to those who are diagnosed with ALS, and will contact MEDIchair directly with any needs.
Canadian Paraplegic Association
Now known as Spinal Cord Injury Alberta, this organization provides minimal funding assistance with options to apply. Applications must be done directly by the applicant to the association.
Easter Seals of Canada
Easter Seals is for those who have no other place to go for assistance. When you apply you are given a caseworker who will find the funding for your needs.
